A “Prospectus” is a published document announcing a forthcoming project, publication, endeavor, etc. In terms of printmaking, historically, it is a format that would be utilized to showcase a segment of a larger print project ahead of final production. We are pleased to present a Prospectus as a facet of this exhibition, documenting a years-long project to reprint specimens of the entire RRK collection. As part of our ongoing student RRK Residency series, ten undergraduate students have contributed to the progress of this project so far, beginning in the summer of 2022. For a six-week session each summer, admitted students are compensated for participating in a full-time effort to collaborate on designing and printing new specimens. It's a unique opportunity to be hands-on with the RRK collection so extensively, and affording students these experiences has allowed for countless ideas and discoveries. Exciting and unpredictable things happen when students are given the time and resources to delve into creative efforts outside an academic course's typical rhythm and structure. - Henry Smith
